The Admission, Motti Lerner’s acclaimed but controversial play, is being remounted in workshop form for a three-week commercial engagement April 30-May 18. After finishing a short, sold-out run at Theater J, the play comes to Studio Theatre’s Mead Theater courtesy of Busboys and Poets and Andy Shallal, artist, activist, and recent candidate for the Democratic nomination for DC mayor. The Washington Post’s Peter Marks calls this Israeli homage to Arthur Miller’s All My Sons “spellbinding…wrenching…wonderful unsparing clarity.” The play focuses on a wounded veteran’s search for the truth surrounding the murder of a group of Palestinian villagers by an Israeli unit commanded by his father 40 years earlier. Following each performance, there will be open discussions with cast members and community leaders.
