A Two State Solution to Resolve the Israel-Palestine Conflict

Category :: Educational
A diplomatic crisis may be looming as the PLO plans to present its motion on Palestinian statehood to the UN General Assembly. The talk will focus on how the United States supported Palestinian state building; why a two-state solution is essential to Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic state; and how we might get there?

Dr. Howard J. Sumka is an expert in post-con?ict reconstruction and development in fragile and conflict-ridden regions. During his 25-year career with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) he spent more than 17 years living in Africa, the Balkans, and the Middle East. He was the Director of USAID’s country missions in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and, most recently, West Bank-Gaza. He received his PhD in City and Regional Planning from UNC-Chapel Hill and attained the rank of Minister Counselor in USAID’s Senior Foreign Service. He is now the CEO of the OneVoice Movement, which is working to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
