Yohannes Bayu, Founder and Director of the African Refugee Development Center, arrived in Israel in 1997 and was granted political asylum following a 23 day
hunger strike. Motivated by his experience, Bayu resolved to help the thousands of other asylum seekers escaping to Israel, and founded the ARDC is 2004.
