Director Eytan Fox’s modern musical portrays a young man who becomes a drag queen and
searches for his mother. It is based on the songs of Israeli pop legend Svika Pick, who is
renowned for the composition of the Eurovision award-winning song “Diva”. Mary Lou was
released in Israel as a 4 part TV series and garnered the equivalent of an Israeli Emmy award
for best mini series in 2010. The movie features the Israeli drag troupe The Holy Wigs.
