Lost and Found Spaces: Buildings, Cities and the Stories They Tell

A lively evening exploring the lost and found stories of places across Toronto and Montreal. lnside the dazzling historic sanctuary of the Kiever Synagogue in Kensington Market, Shawn Micallef, editor of Spacing Magazine and author of Stroll; Sara Ferdman Tauben, author of the new book, Traces of the Past: Montreal’s Early Synagogues; and filmmaker and architectural photographer, David Kaufman will discuss rediscovering forgotten urban spaces. The conversation will be moderated by Lisa Rochon, award-winning architecture critic of the Globe and Mail.

Followed by a reception with refreshments, live music and book signing as well as a special exhibition of photographs of synagogues and city spaces by David Kaufman.

Presented by Makom together with the Kiever Synagogue, celebrating their 100th anniversary.
