Do you enjoy art and nature? Well, a New Year is upon us and so are new activities and events.
Our club will be leading a trip to Capitol Hill's Volunteer Park, which is a world class park designed by the legendary Olmstead Brothers. We will first visit the renowned Volunteer Park Conservatory, a Victorian greenhouse modeled on London's Crystal Palace where horticulturists with the Seattle Department of Parks and Recreation care... for the Conservatory's collections, including bromeliads, palms, ferns, cacti, and seasonal display plants.
After visiting the Conservatory we will walk a short distance to the Seattle Asian Art Museum (1400 East Prospect Street, Seattle, WA) to see beautiful Asian art exhibits.
We will top off the day by getting some nice coffee and pastries at the Volunteer Park Cafe (1501 17th Ave E).
In terms of carpooling, there will be a carpool from the Eastside to Volunteer Park. If interested, please meet at the S. Kirkland Park & Ride (10610 N.E. 38th Pl., Kirkland, WA – close to the 520 floating bridge and I-405) at 10:30 AM. Please email
[email protected] if you would like to carpool.
Otherwise, the whole group will meet outside the Conservatory (1400 E. Galer St, Seattle, WA) at 11 AM.
Warm Regards,
