Hello Everyone!

Please join us for a hike at the Oyster Dome in Bow, WA (“the Pearl of the Chuckanut Mountains”) on Sunday, August 28, 2011. There will be stunning views of the San Juan Islands from atop the peak. (Please remember your camera, if you are so inclined.) Hike Status Report from the Washington Trails Association (WTA) http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/oyster-dome

Key Stats: Trail: 6.5 mi, difficulty: moderate, elevation Gain: 2,000ft, driving time: approximately 1.5 hrs (from the Northgate P&R). No parking pass required.

We will be following our tradition of having a bite to eat afterwards this time in the Northgate Area at the Saffron Grill (Indian and Mediterranean Cuisine) (2132 North Northgate Way, Seattle) (http://www.saffrongrillseattle.com.html ). Though, please bring a snack or some lunch and some water for the trail as we might not be eating at the restaurant until later afternoon or later. Also please bring whatever essentials may be necessary should the weather be warm, i.e. sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, and water, etc.

Carpooling (Please let us know if you can be a driver):

Meeting at the Northgate Park and Ride (3rd Ave NE, Seattle, WA, 98125) at 9:30am.

Please let me know if you are along the way and we can arrange to pick you up while driving there.

We will be meeting at the trailhead at 11:00am or shortly thereafter.

Driving Directions to the Trailhead:

From the south, take the Larrabee State Park/Chuckanut Drive exit off of I-5 (exit 231) and drive just past the 10 mile post on Chuckanut Drive (SR 11) and park on the paved, wide place on the west shoulder.

Feel free to contact me, May Lee (maylee.chung(at)gmail.com or on facebook), with questions.

Hope to see you then!

Warm Regards,

Payam, Co-Organizer
May Lee, Pres.JPASS
