Wide-Angle Judaism: Perspectives on People, Places & Practices

Category :: Educational
With Rabbi Batshir Torchio

Formerly listed as Introduction to Judaism

Much more than a religion, Judaism is an evolving civilization. There is no definitive way to think or act Jewishly. There have always been Judaisms (plural) coexisting in time and place. To that end, this course offers a wide-angle lens, exposing Judaism as bigger than any one institution, denomination, or historical moment can represent. Using a variety of modalities to explore beliefs, behaviors and ways of Jewish belonging over time, this course is an invitation for 21st century Bay Area people—Jewish or otherwise identified—to find inspiration in Jewish wisdom and practice.
