On Shabbat day, we will proudly welcome three guests:
Guest Cantor: Raffaele Bedarida. Raffaele is from Livorno. He is a professor of Art History and has smicha from the Italian Rabbinical College in Rome.
Guest Torah Reader: Ariel Di Segni is a student at Yeshiva University and a native of Rome, Italy. He will be reading the Torah in the Roman nusach. He is the son of Rav Gian Franco Di Segni, a molecular biologist who is also a Rav who teaches at the Rabbinical village in Rome.
Guest Lecturer: We are honored to welcome Dr. Sharon Flato, associate professor of Judaic Studies at Brooklyn College. She will deliver a talk on Shabbat morning entitled "The Age of the Italian Ghetto: A Perplexing Era of Persecution and Prosperity.
Kiddush: Enjoy Tuscan cholent (hamin) and other Italian delicacies at our lavish Kiddush.
