Instructor Hermine Meinhard's book Bright Turquoise Umbrella, published by Tupelo Press, was a finalist for the Poetry Society of America's Norma Farber First Book Award. She was also a finalist for PSA's Robert H. Winner Memorial Award and winner of the Sue Saniel Elkind Poetry Award.
