PEOPLE OF THE LIBRETTO: The Singer-Songwriter Edition

Previous editions of the People of the Libretto series have surveyed music heard on the biggest stages: Broadway musical theater, Hollywood movie music, and 1960s' pop music created in the Brill Building. This year, the focus moves to the more intimate art form created by singer-songwriters. Included will be songs by such legends as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Paul Simon, Carole King, Janis Ian, Billy Joel, Randy Newman, and Carly Simon.

TCC members Rachel Dahill-Fuchel, Trudy Elins, David Klein, Jennifer Naparstek Klein, Kim Kramer, Joshua Nelson, Dan Wyman, and Michelle Lang Zalph will present commentary and sing some of the great songs created by these Jewish songwriters. Louise Moed will provide piano accompaniment.

This same production will also be performed at our Shabbat celebration on January 24.

Adult Perspectives is the name of our Sunday Adult Education program. These sessions are led by Rabbi Peter Schweitzer or by a member of the congregation. TCC Members occasionally participate on panel discussions and guest speakers, including our own members, are also invited to make special presentations.

Adult Perspectives meets twice a month on Sundays from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM at 15 West 86th Street (SAJ) in Manhattan. There is no charge and all are welcome to attend.

All dates and programs are subject to change. To confirm events and for more information, contact the office at 212-213-1002 or [email protected].
