Ruth Messinger at Simchat Shabbat

Category :: Community
ruth messinger at simchat shabbat october 14 2011
Join Ruth Messinger, President of American Jewish World Service, to learn about the politics of the global food crisis. Speaking from her experiences in developing countries—from Ethiopia to El Salvador; India to Ghana—Ruth will explain how American Jews can put pressure on our government to reform food aid policies that exacerbate hunger and poverty. She will also highlight the grassroots projects that AJWS supports in Africa, Asia and the Americas. Sharing testimonies from dedicated volunteers—students, community leaders and skilled professionals—Ruth will attest to the transformative impact we can make as global citizens working for a more just world.
Ms Messinger will speak following the Shabbat service and a light dinner.
There will be Tot Shabbat, child care and children's programming also.
