Are you dealing with stress, chronic illness or pain? Becoming more ‘stress-hardy’ can lead to better life-long health. This 8-week course in MBSR includes instruction in a variety of formal mindfulness practices (moment-to-moment, non-judgmental awareness), gentle stretching and yoga, group dialogue and inquiry, and support for integrating mindful awareness into daily life. Modeled after the renowned program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts over 30 years ago, MBSR can bring you lasting changes in physical and psychological symptoms, greater energy, improved self-esteem and increased ability to cope with pain and stress. Co-sponsored by New York Insight Meditation Center.
With Elaine Retholtz, MBSR teacher and acupuncturist in private practice. Elaine Retholtz has been practicing mindfulness meditation since 1988.
