Film Forum will screen Fiddler on the Roof as part of their ongoing series of family-friendly classics, Film Forum Jr. The screening will be introduced by legendary lyricist Sheldon Harnick. After his appearance at Film Forum on June 12, Harnick will attend the Tony Awards that evening, where he will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Sheldon Harnick is an American lyricist best known for his collaborations with the late Jerry Bock, such as Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me, The Apple Tree, The Rothschilds, and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Fiorello! His other works include Rex, composed by Richard Rodgers, and a stage adaptation of The Umbrellas of Cherbourg with Michel Legrand. Two of his most popular shows, Fiddler on the Roof and She Loves Me, are currently being revived on Broadway and have both received Tony nominations for Best Revival of a Musical.
Film Forum is located at 209 West Houston Street. All Film Forum Jr. tickets are $8 and can be purchased either online or at the box office.
