Writer Gabriel Cohen was surprised to find that mindfulness practices and Buddhist insights were enormously helpful during his own divorce—they offered a new way of dealing with painful experiences. In this program based on his book Storms Can’t Hurt the Sky: A Buddhist Path Through Divorce, he will offer down-to-earth, practical ways to relieve the difficult emotions that arise during breakups, the loss of a loved one, and other difficult times. Above all, the focus will be on the essential insight that suffering can serve as an unexpected springboard to better new relationships and a better life. He will be joined by Juliana Neiman, a psychotherapist and couples therapist with over 20 years experience and successful leader of 2 dating workshops at The JCC.
