An interactive art project about cultural identity by conceptual artists Alina and Jeff Bliumis, this two-part installation includes photographic prints that serve as an anthropological inquiry into Brooklyn's immigrant communities, most notably the Russian-Jewish community in Brighton Beach.
Confronted by a radically different reality, these new Americans are bound together by pursuing their dreams and searching for new identities. How does one retain cultural roots while creating a new identity? The second part of the exhibition allows the community to share its identity in this participatory photography-based installation.
