Opening Reception: April 30th from 6-8:00pm
This exhibit consists of a series of butterfly images enhanced by the poetry of Chaim Nachman Bialik. These images were taken at the Butterfly Garden at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven, Connecticut. The text was selected from two of Bialik’s popular children’s poems: “The Butterfly to the Blossom,” and “The Blossom to the Butterfly,” as well as two additional poems with powerful butterfly imagery: “Tziporet,” and “God Did Not Show Me.” These photographic images are a portal through which the viewer may engage with the Hebrew verses and gain a greater appreciation of Bialik’s literary genius.
