''Wendy Polins has written a compelling, beautifully told love story that brings readers to the intersection of religion, science, art and history. It's a remarkable, mesmerizing book.''--Jeffrey Zaslow, #1 New York Times bestselling co-author, The Last Lecture
FARE FORWARD, A Novel, has been chosen as the very first Ivy-Life Book Club pick through Linked In.
Reception and meeting will take place November 9th from 7:00 to 9:00 at Lori Bookstein Fine Art, 138 Tenth Avenue. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be served, with discussion starting at 8 pm. Already chosen to headline book fairs around the country, FARE FORWARD is of particular interest to the Columbia and NYC Communities: not only is the protagonist a young architecture student at Columbia, but a key character in the novel is Wallace Gray, the famed English professor from Columbia who taught the beloved course Eliot, Joyce and Pound. George Stephanopoulos called this course, "a gift that will — literally — last a lifetime."
Last week there was international news about particles (neutrinos) that had been accelerated by the Supercollider at CERN breaking the limits of the speed of light and potentially challenging Einstein's theories. This possibility is one of the key concepts that FARE FORWARD is based on. So anything is possible . . . theoretically of course.
About the author: Wendy Dubow Polins is a writer, architect and artist whose work is characterized by an artistic vision and rigor. She knows that a book, a painting, a building, or one person, can change your life. Like her protagonist, Wendy holds a masters degree in architecture from Columbia University, and a bachelors degree from Barnard College where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude in political philosophy and art history. She has spent many hours in the painting and architecture studios, both as a teacher and student. Wendy is currently teaching art history, designing things and working on her second book--the prequel to Fare Forward.
