Basic Beliefs and Principles of Judaism: Are These Our Beliefs Too?

Category :: Fundraiser
Philosophy 101 / BASIC BELIEFS AND PRINCIPLES OF JUDAISM: Are these our beliefs too?

What is the origin of tithing? What was the first dietary law? How do we explain bad things happening to good people? What is the traditional view on God-Torah-Israel? What is the difference between holy and profane, clean and unclean? Where does knowledge and truth come from? What are the traditional Jewish positions on when life begins, when life ends, heroic measures and afterlife? What are our views on these and other matters?

This is an on-going series of classes presented by Rabbi Peter Schweitzer. They will be held on five Wednesday evenings, from 7:00-8:30pm, in the home of a member in the West Village. Free to members, $10 to non-members. Limited space. RSVP required to 212-213-1002 or [email protected].
