The Jewish Enlightenment: From Mendelssohn to Mendele course will follow the development of the "Haskalah," the Jewish Englightenment, from its birth in Berlin under the leadership of Moses Mendelssohn to its arrival almost 100 years later in Eastern Europe evolving into its unique expression in Yiddish Literature with the works of Mendele Moykher Sforim.
