From a 1947 1st edition of Anne Frank’s Diary to a 500 year old anti-Semitic treatise, Sonny Ideker is bringing his world class collection amassed over decades to three upcoming art and antique shows in South Florida. Other treasures to behold include an extremely rare Hebrew work on the Jewish calendar by Ibn Susan from 1579, Louis-Henry Doquin’s collection of Hebrew sayings, expressions, and proverbs from 1620, and an exquisite fore-edge painting hidden within the pages of Samuel Wilberforce’s 1898 “Heroes of Hebrew History”. For the kids, a rare copy of Rabbi Barachia Nikdami ‘s fable “The Book of Foxes” from 1661 and one of the earliest children’s Hebrew grammar books, the Alphabetum Hebraicum, dating from the 1550’s.
This once in a lifetime opportunity to see such a collection of historical importance together in one show is provided by Sonny Ideker in the hope that as many people as possible get to experience it.
