Originally formed in 1986 in New York City’s East Village, The Klezmatics blend world music and different varieties of klezmer to form a sound that is uniquely its own, redefining Jewish music in the process. The band’s work bridges the gap between the lost shtetls of Eastern Europe and Jewish/Yiddish culture in twenty-first century North America.
