Harper College’s Lifelong Learning Institute will feature Author Kenneth N Green speaking on his book, I’m From Division Street, on Monday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1801 W. The book tells of the author’s personal journey from his tough Humboldt Park neighborhood, where he faced poverty, academic problems and antisemitism, to a successful legal career, as Bureau Chief of the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, supervising approximately 400 attorneys, induction into the California Boxing Hall of Fame, police sergeant, and as a single parent raising his son. He will tell how his fascinating life and the life of other famous and successful Jewish people, was shaped by the experiences of growing up on Division Street. Following his presentation, there will be a book sale and signing.
