Bridging the Gap: An Interfaith Concert of Muslim and Jewish Music

Please join American Music Festivals and our partners the American Islamic Center of Bosniaks in Chicago and Jewish Council on Urban Affairs for a concert "Celebrating 500 Years of Friendship in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The event features a performance by the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra conducted by Philip Simmons and guest speaker Rabbi Neil Brief, Rabbi Emeritus at Ezra Habonim, the Niles Township Jewish Congregation. Music includes the US Premiere of Josip Slavenski's ""Muslimani, Ilya Levinson's "Shtetl Scenes," works by John Williams, and traditional Bosnian Sevdah music arranged for Orchestra. Vocal soloist will be Imam Senad Agic, joined by the Chicago Syntagma Musicum Chorus. The event includes a photo exhibit “Remembering the Genocide in Bosnia.”

Tickets are $25, available on line or at the door.
