Conversations at the Vilna with Elizabeth Berman: “Evaluate Your Jewish Artifacts”
Conversations at the Vilna is a series of spirited discussions around the Vilna Shul's old study table with local scholars and authors about topics relevant to Jewish identity. This Conversation will be led by Elizabeth Berman, certified Judaica appraiser, who will evaluate and answer questions about your Jewish artifacts. You know how important your family heirlooms are; this is an opportunity to have a professional Judaica appraiser evaluate them and see if perhaps they have additional value as antiques.
Ms. Berman is an accredited appraiser, specializing in modern and contemporary art, Judaica, historical papers, and American and European fine arts and antiquities. She is the President of Judaica in Context and Collections in Context. In addition to being an independent appraiser for private collectors and museums, she has also served as curator at the B'nai B'rith Klutznick National Jewish Museum, guest curator at the United States Holocaust Museum, and curator at the Jewish Historical Society of Maryland.
This event will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 12:00-1:00 pm at the Vilna Shul, Boston’s Center for Jewish Culture, 18 Phillips St, Boston. This is a brown bag lunch event. Please respect basic kosher laws (no pork, shellfish, or mixed meat and dairy). There is no charge, but we welcome donations. Registration is appreciated - please email
