Breaking Ground: Remarkable Jewish Women of Boston

Category :: Educational
Conversations at the Vilna is a series of spirited discussions around the Vilna Shul's old study table with local scholars, authors and community leaders about topics relevant to Jewish identity. This conversation will be led by Helaine Davis and Linda Stern of the Boston Women's Heritage Trail; they will give a multi-media presentation entitled "Breaking Ground: Remarkable Jewish Women of Boston's West End." Learn answers to questions such as: Who was the first mother elected to the Boston School Committee?; Who was a "mistress of disguises" when she repeatedly re-entered Jordan Marsh to organize the clerks?; Who was one of the first American nutritionists to link proper diet with good health? Come celebrate Mother's Day with us and learn about these "groundbreaking" Jewish women!

Bagels and beverages will be provided. There is no charge, but donations are welcome. Registration is appreciated - please email [email protected] - but walk-ins are welcome.
