The world of superheroes and villains comes to life at the Jewish Museum of Maryland! ZAP! POW! BAM! The Superhero: The Golden Age of Comic Books, 1938-1950 will be at the JMM from January 27, 2013 to August 18, 2013.
In the midst of the economic and political turmoil of the 1930’s and 1940’s, comic books offered America champions like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Captain America. Connect with your inner superhero as you climb into the Batmobile or change into your superhero alter ego in a telephone booth, or use your creative juices to create your own hero and comic book!
Batman will be making a special appearance at the JMM from 11am-1pm at the exhibit opening, Sunday, Jan. 27th! Please RSVP to the opening to
[email protected] or call 410-732-6400 ext. 215. Entrance to the opening is with regular museum admission (see www.jewishmuseummd.org for details).
The exhibit was developed by Atlanta’s William Breman Jewish Heritage Museum, and is being brought to Baltimore thanks to funding from the David and Barbara B. Hirschhorn Foundation.
