Hilarious Comedy for a Serious Cause
Heritage Players, Inc. presents the delightful, romantic Jewish comedy Beau Jest, opening October 8 at Rice Auditorium in Catonsville. Called by reviewer Kelly Huffman “a fleet-footed farce with a heart of gold,” Beau Jest tells the story of the charming but devious Sarah Goldman, who weaves quite a tangled web to convince Mom and Dad that the man she’s been dating is a nice Jewish doctor. The deception – hiring a stand-in boyfriend from an escort service – brings hilarious and unexpected consequences for everyone. Heritage Players, a philanthropic as well as theatrical presence in Catonsville for over ten years, will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the show to the Catonsville Emergency Food Ministries, which serves Catonsville area residents with emergency food, clothing, eviction prevention, utility cut-off intervention, and other essential aid in times of need. Performances are October 8, 9,15,16, 22 and 23 at 8 p.m. and October 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. at Rice Auditorium, Spring Grove Hospital Campus, Catonsville. Tickets at the door $10 and $8 for seniors/students. www.heritageplayers.com 410- 869- 9174.
