MJCCA Kristallnacht Ceremony

The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta will commemorate the anniversary of Kristallnacht, or Night of Broken Glass. The program is open to the community and will take place at the MJCCA’s Besser Holocaust Memorial Garden, one of the premiere Holocaust Memorials in the southeast. The program will include a brief ceremony, lighting of the torches, and remarks from Harry Rosenfeld. In his memoir, From Kristallnacht to Watergate, Harry Rosenfeld tells of growing up in Hitler’s Berlin, where as a nine-year-old boy he saw his father taken away by the Gestapo in the middle of the night and witnessed the burning of his synagogue on Kristallnacht, the prelude to the Holocaust.
