INTOWN ATLANTA BRINGS CHANUKAH JOY IN NEW AND EXCITING WAYS
Chanukah Wonderland, Chanukah on Ice and Menorah Lighting in Virginia Highlands
[Atlanta, GA] –Atlanta Chanukah celebrations will receive a significant boost this year as Chabad Intown offers three exciting and completely unique celebrations. The first is the second year of the Chanukah Wonderland this year housed at the Intown Jewish Preschool. 1000 Sq feet of Chanukah Activities Plus Atlanta’s Largest Dreidel. The second is the annual lighting of a giant Menorah on the corner of Virginia and N. Highland in the parking lot of the new Oh Yeah Burger. To top off the celebrations there is Chanukah On Ice at Park Tavern’s “The Rink” and a Menorah Lighting on the Ice!
"Chanukah's a time for celebrating the freedom to openly celebrate our values; these celebrations and Menorah lightings proclaim that message to the world", said Rabbi Eliyahu Schusterman, Director of Chabad Intown. "We appreciate the community’s eagerness to bring a comprehensive Holiday spirit to our great city. There is no better way to accomplish this than with a Chanukah program that symbolizes Unity, Light & Joy."
At the Chanukah Wonderland, children will learn how real olive oil is made. Participants will squeeze, press, pound and pulverize authentic olives into fresh olive oil, just like the ancient Maccabbees, at an exciting hands-on workshop centered on a genuine olive oil hand press.
The event will also feature face painting, Chanukah Theater, Computer Center, Crafts and more. The Menorah lighting and Ice Skating will feature warm drinks, potato ‘Latkes’ (pancakes) and chocolate Chanukah 'Gelt' (coins).
The entire community is invited for these events. For more information please call 404-931-6449 or e-mail
